First Web Seminar With iGem Community/与iGem社区首次网络会议

Today members of the biobuilder club in SUIS connect to iGem community online to talk about the coming year of iGem 2017. iGem (International Genetically Engineering Machine Competition) is a competitive event annually held to encourage skilled students in Synthetic Biology to develop team projects and solve real-world problems. Its topics ranges largely and attract passionate scholars who engaged in many areas.

今日biobuilder的成员首次通过网络电话的形式与iGem社区连接。 iGem的全称是国际遗传工程机器大赛，是一个年度的赛事旨在鼓励合成化学的学者通过团队合作等形式来提供真实难题的解决方案。它的话题广泛涉及多个交叉学科因此非常吸引STEM学生。

We will have a big challenge in developing adapt skills in operating lab equipments and cultivating bacterias. They will need to get familiar with genetic engineering process including DNA transformation, Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR), Heat Shock, etc. It will be a big year for us to finish up typical iGem lab projects and develop their own innovation based on biological-based kits.

今年我们Alpha小队将会受到多方面的挑战，其中最重要的就是实验室器材的合理使用和细菌菌株培养的。我们将会通过实践的方式了解最常见的基因工程程序，包括脱氧核糖核酸转化，聚合酶链式反应，热休克等等。2017必然是极其重要的一年，在经过了大量实验的锻炼后最终TEAM ALPHA基于生物的零件库推出自己的革新项目。
