We are keen on learning Synthetic Biology by engaging hand-on tasks, reappearing experiments in BioBuilder, and extrapolating potential solutions to exited problems based on a wide rage of biological, electrical, and chemical toolkits.

Angela
I'm Angela, 16 years old. I love Biology. Well I love it but I'm also awe of dangerous things, that makes me pursue Science and control these cool things. My interests are in Forensic Medicine, Engineering, Ballastics. I am taking AP Biology and attending this competition to gain more experience in the field.
If I can use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be aging.
If I had the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be Dodo bird (Raphus cucullatus).
Noah
I'm a senior student, good at Electronics Engineering, MCU programming and Multism Circuit Design.
This is the first time I join a biology competition but my interest in Synthetic Biology has grown wild. In this year I will gain more laboratory experience and document everything taking place.
If I can use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be famine.
If I have the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be Meganeura.

I am a 11th grader at SUIS. Biology and Film-editing are my two great interests. My strengths are my insight, trustworthiness and I am a good team player. Of course, there are also many shortcomings, such as bad memory and procrastination. IGem Biobuilder club offers me a platform to pursue a common interest in synthetic biology with a group of amazing students.
If I am capable, I want to use synthetic biology to find a cure for the dementia patients. Because those afflicted with dementia suffer from memory loss and a great deal of physical pain. I cannot imagine how painful it is for the patients’ family members to see their loved ones losing memories day by day.

Carol
I love science and I'm interested in biochemical engineering. Recently I am doing some research about genetic coding using computer programming as well as learning fundamental parts of Auduino. By working with seniors as a team, I will acquire more knowledge about bioengineering which is a good experience for me.
If I had the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be Snubnosed Goldenmonkey.
Marshal
Speaking of Biology, I am a maniac. I dream to pursue a major of Biomedical Engineering or Synthetic Biology so I join the iGem program. Although not many laboratory experience has been learned, I am very good at Data Analysis, Organic Chemistry and strong at Mathematics.
This year I will challenge myself.
If I can use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be famine.
If I had the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be raptor.

Jane
I'm Jane. For now I study in 11th grade. Biology is my favourite subject and I’ve been studing it for three years. For future major, I’d like to study genetic engineering and I'm willing to work in the pharmaceuticals industry after graduation. There’s a strong motivation for the team and myself to design an ingenious study to demonstrate the fine mechanism of Biosynthesis.
If I could could use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be HIV.
If I had the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be Javan Tiger.

Venessa
My name is Vanessa Zhang. I am a 11th grader in SUIS. I am 16 years old now. During my spare time, I love sketching, painting and reading. If I could use synthetic biology to solve one global problem, it would be to suppress cancer and slow aging process.

Animal world was my favorite show when I was a kid. I choose to study biology in high school. Though it's a little disappointed that most of knowledge I learned from biology class is about microorganisms such as bacterias and cells, I still love this subjects so much and I found some process happened inside the cell is super fun such as photosynthesis and DNA replication. Compare to physics and chemistry, biology is much more animated than them.
If I could could use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be famine.
If I had the technology to resurrect one extinct species that would be raptor.
If I can borrow any genes from nature it would be photosynthesis.

I’m from grade 11, a girl good at chemistry and intend to select biochemistry as major. I fell in love with chemistry when I first mixed two solutions together and a colour change occured. After learning biology in class I found my secondary interest in dealing with DNAs and editing it. This is the first time I join a biology team, I hope I can acquire more knowledge about biology this year.

Taylor
My name is Taylor. I am currently a 10th grade student who want to study further in the field of biology. The goal that I would like to complete through the competition is to build on and expand my experience and knowledge about biology in a higher level. Although I am not a science student, I still think there is something I can do for our team. I am student who is dedicated in media arts and film making. This competition can be a great opportunity for me to apply my experience and knowledge about media art to help the scientists communicate their idea better through arts.
My involvement makes the team more diverse.

Alex
My name is Alex Chan. My interest in biology didn’t start long ago however I am very good at electrical and mechanical engineering. I had extensive studies in 3D printing and programming. My ideal career path would be to become a doctor and I’m very excited to be on a iGEM BioBuilder team.
If I could could use synthetic biology to solve one global problem that would be the elimination of geneogenous defects on human beings.
Lisa
My name is Lisa Ryu, a sophomore who is especially interested in environmental science, programming and mathematics. Even though Biology is not my best subject, I am strongly attracted by synthetic biology’s potential to provide eco-friendly solutions to many public concerns. I hope that this experience of participating in iGem would help me develop a brand new perspective of science.
If I could use synthetic biology to solve a global problem that would be climate change.
